These Terms and Conditions apply to all training services provided by Archer K9 Ltd, including but not limited to one-to-one training, group classes, residential training, collection and train services, puppy programmes, behavioural consultations and training packages.
By booking any service with Archer K9, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
1. Booking and Payment
Payment is required to secure your booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Where a deposit is taken, your booking is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.
The remaining balance must be paid before or at the start of the first session unless otherwise agreed.
2. Deposits and Refunds
Deposits are non-refundable.
However, if you provide at least 48 hours’ notice before your appointment, your deposit may be transferred to another available appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in the loss of your deposit.
Failure to attend a booked appointment without notice will also result in the loss of your deposit.
3. Training Packages
Once a training package has commenced, it cannot be cancelled or refunded.
Unused sessions within a package are non-refundable.
In exceptional circumstances, Archer K9 may, at its sole discretion, agree to transfer remaining sessions to another suitable date.
Packages are non-transferable unless agreed in writing.
4. Owner Responsibility
Training is a partnership between Archer K9 and the owner.
Whilst we provide professional guidance and structured training plans, long-term success depends heavily upon the owner’s commitment and consistency.
Owners accept full responsibility for practising the exercises demonstrated during training.
Failure to follow advice is likely to reduce or prevent successful outcomes.
5. Minimum Training Commitment
Dog training is not an instant solution.
As a minimum, owners should expect to practise their training programme consistently for at least 28 consecutive days.
More complex behavioural issues, including aggression, reactivity, anxiety, predatory behaviour and severe obedience issues, often require considerably longer periods of consistent training.
No guarantees are given regarding the timeframe required for behavioural change.
6. Following Professional Advice
Where written training plans or behavioural reports are provided, owners agree to follow the advice as closely as reasonably possible.
Deliberately ignoring professional advice, inconsistent training or using conflicting methods may significantly affect progress.
Archer K9 accepts no responsibility for poor results where advice has not been followed.
7. Disclosure of Behavioural History
Owners must provide complete and accurate information regarding their dog’s history before training begins.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Previous bites
- Attempted bites
- Aggression towards people
- Aggression towards dogs
- Resource guarding
- Livestock chasing
- Previous training
- Previous use of training equipment
- Medical conditions
- Medication
- Veterinary diagnoses
Failure to disclose relevant behavioural history may place staff, members of the public and other dogs at risk.
Archer K9 reserves the right to terminate any session immediately if undisclosed behavioural issues create an unacceptable safety risk.
8. Bite History
Owners specifically warrant that they have disclosed every known bite incident, attempted bite or aggressive behaviour involving their dog.
This includes incidents involving:
- Adults
- Children
- Visitors
- Family members
- Dogs
- Other animals
Failure to disclose bite history may result in immediate termination of services without refund.
9. Health
Owners confirm that, to the best of their knowledge, their dog is fit to participate in training.
Owners must notify Archer K9 of:
- Illness
- Injury
- Lameness
- Infectious disease
- Recent surgery
- Medication affecting behaviour
If Archer K9 believes a dog is unsuitable to train due to illness or injury, training may be postponed.
10. Vaccinations
Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog meets any vaccination requirements appropriate to their own veterinary advice.
Owners accept responsibility for any risks associated with bringing their dog into public environments.
11. Balanced Training Methods
Archer K9 is a balanced dog training company.
Our methods may include the use of:
- Food rewards
- Toys
- Praise
- Play
- Marker training
- Lead pressure
- Spatial pressure
- Slip leads
- Long lines
- Training collars
- Remote collars (e-collars)
- Other appropriate training equipment where professionally recommended
Not every dog requires every training tool.
Equipment recommendations are always based upon the individual dog’s needs, temperament, welfare and training objectives.
By engaging Archer K9, owners acknowledge that balanced training methods may be discussed, demonstrated or recommended.
Owners remain responsible for deciding whether to follow any equipment recommendations.
12. Safety
Owners remain legally responsible for the behaviour of their dog at all times.
Dogs must remain under control throughout training unless instructed otherwise.
Owners must immediately inform the trainer if they feel unable to safely handle their dog.
13. Children
Children attending training sessions remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian at all times.
Children must be supervised throughout the session.
14. Group Classes
Dogs attending group classes should be suitable for that environment.
Where necessary, Archer K9 may require a behavioural assessment before allowing participation.
Dogs displaying behaviour that presents an unreasonable risk to others may be asked to leave.
15. Residential Training
Residential training teaches the dog new behaviours but also requires owner education.
Owners acknowledge that successful handover depends upon continuing the training once the dog returns home.
Residential training is not a permanent substitute for owner involvement.
16. No Guaranteed Results
Dog behaviour is influenced by numerous factors outside Archer K9’s control.
Accordingly, no guarantee is given that any specific behavioural issue will be fully resolved or resolved within any particular timeframe.
Our commitment is to provide professional instruction, structured training and ongoing support based on current best practice and our experience.
17. Photography and Video
Training sessions may occasionally be photographed or filmed for training records or promotional purposes.
If you do not wish your dog or yourself to appear in photographs or videos, please notify Archer K9 before the session begins.
18. Liability
Whilst every reasonable precaution is taken to ensure safety, dog training carries inherent risks.
Owners participate entirely at their own risk.
Archer K9 shall not be liable for:
- Injury caused by the owner’s dog
- Injury to the owner’s dog
- Damage caused by the owner’s dog
- Veterinary costs
- Loss of earnings
- Indirect or consequential losses
Nothing within these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion would be unlawful.
19. Right to Refuse or Terminate Services
Archer K9 reserves the right to refuse or discontinue training where:
- Information has been deliberately withheld.
- Owners behave abusively or aggressively.
- Payment has not been made.
- Safety is compromised.
- Welfare concerns arise.
- Owners repeatedly fail to follow reasonable safety instructions.
No refund will be given where services are terminated for these reasons.
20. Changes to Terms
Archer K9 reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
The latest version published on our website shall apply to future bookings.
21. Acceptance
By booking any training service with Archer K9, you confirm that you:
- Have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.
- Accept Archer K9’s balanced training philosophy.
- Have disclosed all known behavioural and medical information relating to your dog.
- Understand that owner commitment is essential to achieving results.
- Accept that no specific behavioural outcome can be guaranteed.
- Agree to follow professional advice throughout your dog’s training programme.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
